Today is our biggest release for a single day since the end of May! Continuing expansion efforts in the Greater Portland has led to 7 new trail postings on Maine Trail Finder. New are…

Black Brook Preserve, a network of scenic trails owned and maintained by the Windahm Land Trust;

Brickyard Point, a peninsula in Falmouth isolated by I-295 and accessible only at high tide via watercraft;

Fore River Parkway, a paved and crushed stone path connecting the Portland Transportation Center with West Commercial Street;

Fore Rive Trail (including Thompson Point) a network of trails with multiple scenic viewpoints along the Fore River;

Forest City Trail, a trail through Portland combining multiple trail networks that spans the City of Portland and takes most of a day to complete;

Lyseth School and Pine Grove Park, a relaxing network of trails through an open Pine grove off Allen Avenue; and

Stroudwater Trail, a trail connecting Congress Street to the Westbrook city line via boardwalks and vistas along the Stroudwater River.

Also check out the updated Back Cove and Bayside Postings

In June we had 15 trails go “silently” up on site, but by no means does this mean they aren’t worth checking out! Highlighted are forgotten tramways, state parks, Passamaquody culture, and trails along the hardest section of the Appalachian Trail.

Keeping checking back to see what is new! We will keep rolling out trails all through the summer season.

Get out and explore!
