With the help of the Downeast Coastal Conservancy, Maine Trail Finder has posted four more trails for Washington County! These trails are scattered along the Downeast coast from Steuben to Lubec and include a coastal hill, an island, stone beaches, and a handicap-accessible boardwalk. Each is it own unique experience worth exploring!

Tibbett Island is now Maine Trail Finder second water access only trail and offers visitors everything from smooth stone beaches to rocky bluffs. Mowry Beach is a 100% handicap-accessible, nearly half-mile boardwalk over fragile beach shrub and dune habitat. Pigeon Hill offers breath-taking panoramic views of coastal mountains and Acadia to the west and of the Greater Pleasant Bay to the east, while Pike Lands offers stone beaches and rocky ledges on which visitors can view and explore the varied coastline of Cobscook Bay.

Get out and explore Downeast!
