Today the Roosevelt Campobello International Park went up on Maine Trail Finder! This unique park is jointly managed by the United State and Canada to preserve the shared historic and natural importance of this area to both countries. The park lies just across the channel from Lubec, Maine and was in part designated due to the presence of the FDR Summer Cottage which know is part of the park attractions.
Trails at the park highlight the beautiful shared maritime coast of Downeast Maine and Atlantic Canada, and many of the breath-taking views look back towards the US Coast. The park has two easily accessed interpretive trails, Visitor Center to Friar's Head and Eagle Hill Bog, were visitors can learn more about some of the unique natural features of the park along relatively easy to access trails. The Main Hiking Network is made up of several well maintained trails that, when hiked in combination, can create many unique experiences of beautiful coastal hiking.
Be sure to bring your passport (or equivalent) when visiting these trails as you have to cross an international border to get there.
