Many of you probably already know that tropical storm Irene caused flooding and damage to roads around the state and particularly in Western Maine. Vehicle access to many trails may have been comprised.

Related to these trails Maine Public Broadcasting reported in an article Wednesday, August 31:
“Back in western Maine, meantime, the Department of Transportation says it now hopes to have temporary fixes for two collpased bridges on Route 27 in place by next Tuesday. The road is an important economic thruway for goods moving back and forth to Canada, and lumber coming out of the western mountains. “
Other Trails on Maine Trail Finder probably affected include those in the western Mountains including the Mahoosuc Range. Please use caution if trying to access trails, especially along dirt or logging roads and please help the trails community identify problems by posting anything you know here!
