This week, we are offering two new trails on the Maine Trail Finder. While we had promised one new trail each week, we are doing our best to present as many trails to you as we can and as soon as we can.

Angel Falls—our featured trail—is in remote Franklin County, and while it is short and relatively easy to hike, it does require a bit of care due to the numerous stream crossings along the way. Hikers willing to brave a bumpy drive to the trailhead will be rewarded, however, with an up-close view of one of the highest and most spectacular waterfalls in all of Maine.

Our second trail today, The Whistle Stop Trail, is well known throughout Western Maine. This former rail bed extends for fourteen miles (currently our longest trail on the site) and traverses three towns across Franklin County. Also an easy hike, this trail is also well suited for other modes of recreation including biking or cross-country skiing.
