A challenging hike up a rugged ravine to excellent views atop Mount Desert Island's second highest peak.

The Gorge - A Murray Young hike features two gorges between Dorr Mountain and Cadillac Mountain. The hike highlights the steep gorge walls, two memorial plaques, a quiet stream and occasional views of the water and outer islands.

The Gorham Mountain and Ocean Path Loop features coastal mountains and rocky coastline with panoramic views of Mount Desert Island, Frenchman Bay, and the outer islands.

The Great Head Trail offers spectacular ocean views along a coastal headland with some wooded sections. This historic trail includes the ruins of an early 1900's teahouse.

This trail is a great way to access the park via a quiet forested walk. It offers several opportunities to branch off and explore the Sieur de Monts Spring area and numerous mountain hikes in Acadia National Park.

The Jesup and Hemlock loop is an easy walk through the Great Meadow featuring stands of birch and hemlock trees.

This trail offers a challenging hike across the steep slope, iron rungs included, and a strenuous climb up Sargent Mountain. Hikers are rewarded with panoramic views from two mountain summits and a picturesque pond nestled between the mountains.

The trail follows the shore of Jordan Pond providing iconic views of steep, glacially sculpted mountains and the glacially carved valley that is now Jordan Pond. The trail is rugged in some sections. Good footwear is recommended.

The Ladder Trail Loop features a trail with three short ladders that lead to the summit of Dorr Mountain with panoramic views of Mount Desert Island, the ocean, and the outer islands.

This loop offer a unique view of the park and a chance to get away from the crowds. It is an excellent hike during the peak of Fall foliage in mid-October.
