Description

Memorial Park is located directly behind the Municipal Building at Oak Hill and includes opportunities for both active and passive recreation. The facilities at the park include athletic fields, trails, gazebo, a pond with two fountains, and a skate park. The paths around the park are paved, mostly flat, and approximately five feet wide. They are suitable for wheelchairs and those with limited mobility. There are many benches along the pathways and throughout the park at which to stop and rest.

Trailhead Information

In Scarborough, turn off US-1/ME-9 onto Sawyer Road about 0.5 miles west of the intersection of US-1/ME-9 and ME-114 and ME-207. From Sawyer Road, turn right onto Durant Drive. Parking will be a short distance on the right.

Alternatively, take a left onto Municipal Campus (across from Ward Street) a quarter-mile east of the US-1/ME-9 junction, go 0.1 miles and take a left to stay on Municipal Campus, then go about another 300 feet to the parking lot between the municipal building and the skate park.

Both parking lots are paved and on the same grade as the trail, with one ADA-designated parking space at each.

This is a little gem of a park! We enjoyed some of the history there, the pond, and walking paths. Great place to have a picnic, play chess (they have chess tables!), walk a dog, skate park, etc.
These awesome businesses support our goal of connecting people to outdoor adventures in Maine!
