For more than half a century, the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Maine Mountain Guide has been hikers’ and backpackers’ quintessential printed resource for trails in Maine’s spectacular mountains. This new edition has been thoroughly revised and updated, featuring 175 new trails, 50 new mountains, and 13 additional in-text maps, capturing Maine’s booming trail building and expansion during the past five years.
Author/editor Carey Kish will lead us on a whirlwind tour of mountain hiking in Maine through incredible pictures and lively stories, and will have signed copies of the Guide for sale. Join us for this fun and entertaining event at Maine Sport Outfitters, our partners for the weekend, at 115 Commercial St (Rte 1), Rockport on Saturday, March 23 at 10 am.
Carey Kish is veteran hiker, outdoors and travel writer, photographer, Registered Maine Guide and certified funmeister. He has completed some two-dozen long distance trails in the United States, Canada and Europe. He is the longtime hiking and camping columnist for the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram and writes the outdoor adventure blog “Maineiac Outdoors” at MaineToday.com.
As a BONUS – Maine Sport Outfitters will donate a percentage of their sales on March 22-24 to Georges River Land Trust! So if you are looking for a new kayak or any other significant purchase, please shop on these dates to create a gift to local conservation and trails!
