The second annual R2R trail running race is getting ready for 2020 with some big additions -- including a FULL MARATHON category! We chose Bethel & Sunday River in order to maximize climbing feet and incredible views. It's a good balance: while your heart is pounding and you are cursing our choice of course, the beauty around you will keep you moving forward.
Please note that the courses are subject to change, and we are currently working on a plan for the 2020 event. This will be designed to keep our staff, volunteers, partners, and you--the runners--safe, while still offering an incredibly challenging course. In fact, the courses are shaping up to be hundreds of feet higher than last year.
Here's what we do know: all runners will see logging roads, beautiful views, forests, rough trails, stunning mountain peaks, and the infamous Aftershock. Half and full marathoners will get an additional 5 mountain peaks with incredible vistas and a few thousand (give or take) feet of elevation, And we have something very special for the marathoners: you get to run the course twice. You're welcome.
True to its backcountry nature, this event offers approximate distances, and may differ year-to-year. This is not your typical 10k or 13.1...or 26.2. Put aside your plans for a PR and gear up for your new yearly challenge.
