Prior to the purchase of the property that is now Bethel's Community Forest, the land was heavily logged by the previous owners. Replanting trees creates an environment that supports biodiversity, combats erosion, enriches soil, and fosters a healthy wildlife population.
We are partnering with One Tree Planted to get 10,000 trees in the ground over three days in May, and need your help! Volunteers will choose a morning or afternoon session (or both!) Lunch, drinks, and t-shirts will be provided.
Participants will meet with IWT staff in the parking lot at the Community Forest and hike 1.5 miles to the planting site, where they’ll be given tools, trees, and directions for planting. Detailed instructions will be sent to participants prior to the event.
