Join us for a morning hike at one of Somerset Woods Trustees' newer trail systems, Jacobs' Pines. The recently completed trails over mostly flat ground pass briefly through a harvested area before entering the tall pines of the main parcel. We will walk 1.5 miles with the volunteers who built the trails, learn about the property, and enjoy a midsummer morning with good company. This hike is appropriate for anyone who is able to walk at any speed on mildly rooty, mostly flat terrain. We will meet at the Jacobs' Pines trailhead parking area.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Practice tick safety by wearing long sleeves and pants, socks, and bug spray if you choose. Wear athletic shoes or hiking boots. Face masks are encouraged but not required. If you do not have any of these items, you may request to borrow them from the Skowhegan Outdoors Community Gear Library.
If you'd like to join us for this event, please preregister via the Skowhegan Outdoors website calendar.
This is a free community program of Skowhegan Outdoors, a project of Main Street Skowhegan, in collaboration with Somerset Woods Trustees.
