Join the Spina Bifida Association of Greater New England (SBAGNE) for an accessible guided hike at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park in Freeport!
Our hike will be guided by former board member and outdoor enthusiast, Enock Glidden, who will lead us along wheelchair accessible trails. A light lunch will follow the hike. This event is open to SBAGNE members of all ages.
We plan on hiking two trails, the White Pines Trail (0.5 miles) and the Casco Bay Trail (0.5 miles). When these trails are combined they amount to a roughly 1.25 mile circuit; we will adapt the length of our hike as needed.
The White Pines Trail is about 5 feet wide and barrier-free with a gravel base. It ends with views of the osprey nest on Googins Island. Casco Bay Trail follows the coast with views of rocky shoreline and the surrounding islands.
There is a $4 entry fee per vehicle to enter Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park. If the entry fee is restrictive for you, please reach out to Jean Bertschmann at so that we can arrange financial support. To participate, please fill out the registration form so that we can tailor this experience to accommodate all our participants. The deadline to register is July 24th. Contact Laura Browne-Lambert with questions or concerns.
