Volunteers will be helping to clear one of our focus trails for the day, possbily the Pushaw, Lady Slipper, Beech, Hemlock, and Kids Trails.
The maintenance of our trails is very crucial to providing the public a positive experience. Through this positive experience, we hope to fulfill our mission to encourage people to enjoy, learn and protect the natural environment.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes they do not mind getting dirty. Closed toe shoes are a must.
Hirundo has equipment volunteers can use. However, if participants have gloves and pruners they are encouraged to bring them. We are holding two trail days - July 2 and July 16 - at which we will be focusing on trails that need quite a bit of weed whacking, so if volunteers have weed whackers they could bring that would be ideal.
Our volunteer days are family friendly!
