We will continue our work in Horton Woods at our October Work/Walk Party on Saturday, October 8th. We'll meet at 9 am at the parking lot at 464 Buxton Road (ME-112) in Saco.
This month, we will focus on rehabilitating heavily used portions of the trails in Horton Woods Please bring a leaf rake if you have one. You can bring your own work gloves and a water bottle, too. (We'll provide the water.) Other tools will be delivered to the site by the Saco Bay Trails Mobile Trail Workshop.
Horton Woods is our longest and most diverse trail network, featuring nearly 3 miles of trails on a 100-acre preserve acquired by the City of Saco under the Land for Saco's Future program. It connects with Stone Bridge Trail and Mery Merrill Trail for a 4-mile round-trip hike leading to a beautiful overlook on the Saco River.
As always, everyone is welcome. Please feel free to work, walk, or do both. Saco Bay Trails sponsor Work/Walk Parties on the second weekend of every month until winter.
Saco Bay Trails is an all-volunteer organization that maintains trails for public use around the Saco Bay area. All our events are free and open to the public. If you are not already a member, you can join online!
