This spring, get your nature fix with Scarborough Land Trust! Join mom and educator Kelly Pietrzak for springtime exploration at Libby River Farm. These family-friendly hikes, geared toward kids ages 2-6 and their caregivers, will give you and your little one the opportunity to experience spring as it unfolds. Older children are welcome but educational content will be geared towards younger ages.
On our hike, please expect child-led exploration as we allow nature to provide us opportunity to observe animals, plants, and the changing season. Each outing, you’ll return to Libby River Farm to see what has changed. Expect to exercise your curiosity as you see eggs turn into tadpoles, and the marsh morph from tan to brilliant green.
Kelly believes all children benefit from exposure to nature. Children’s observations, experiments, and conversations help them create order and understand the world, and their place in it, in ways meaningful to their developing minds. And if mud and water is involved, all the better!
About our educator: Kelly has a Masters in Education and has taught preschool through college learners in a variety of settings. Kelly loves following her two kids on daily nature adventures, gardening, running, and being active and outside.
