Fun fall activities - build a scarecrow, create a pumpkin catapult, roast corn over an open fire, and have plenty of time for free play in the woods.
This is a one day drop-off program for kids approximately ages 7-12 years.
Welcome to TimberNook, an internationally known program that has made it's way to Maine! Born out of the belief that play in the outdoors with other children is essential for the development of children's physical development, sensory-system regulation, and social skill development, TimberNook does what no other program is doing - getting your children outside in the woods for "time-honored" play experiences. All created by the children - their ideas, their work, their problem solving, their total engagement in the hard work of play.
Led by Beth Wilkins, an occupational therapist, long-time teacher and parent of three, the goal of the program is to get children inspired to stretch themselves, take on tasks they didn't know they could do and be challenged at their own pace. These programs give families another option (beyond sports and other adult-led activities) for getting their kids outside and active.
