About This Event

The 13th Annual Snowy Egret 5K, to benefit the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center, is now virtual. Our top priority is public safety and we feel a strong responsibility to our members and supporters therefore we are switching our race to a virtual one.  We hope that you will join us for this important fundraiser for the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center.

Sign up and run, walk or stroll a 5K of your own design, the course is up to you!  You can do the race any time between May 18 and June 1 and then upload your results. Consider turning your 5K into a nature walk with a nature trail for your course.

The first 100 adult registrants will receive a special commemorative t-shirt.  To keep the cost down we will have curbside pickup days for you at Scarborough Marsh and Falmouth before the race. If you pick up your t-shirt in person, we will have a free Sunrise Guide for you.  If you live out of the area, we will ship only the t-shirt to you.

All participants will receive a virtual goodie bag.  We will have give-aways such as a free canoe rental certificate at Scarborough Marsh. 

Bibs will be available. You can share your official bib on social media, wear it the day of your race, and keep it as a memento.

We want to see your run and walk!  We encourage you to take photos on Facebook or Instagram, be sure to tag  #SnowyEgret5K.  If you do not use these platforms please email them to us at smac@maineaudbon.org. There will be a raffle and opportunities to win prizes for those who submit photos:

• Best costume of a marsh animal
• Most creative course/route
• Most scenic/natural area 
• Dramatic finish
• Photos of yourself in a Snowy Egret T-shirt (from any year)
