This large area of wilderness contains a number of attractive ponds, numerous marshes and swamps, and miles of undeveloped frontage on Lower Togus Pond. The main road bisecting the preserve is a wide dirt road, with several offshoot trails - of varying quality - that head off in loops to the southeast. Highlights of the area are Moody Pond, Wellman Pond, and Givens Hill, which rises to 550 feet in elevation, making it one of the higher points in the area. The waterfront area on Lower Togus Pond is also worth visiting, but be prepared to bushwhack, as there are no trails to the west of Mud Mill Road.
