Description

This wooded network of relatively flat trails around the school complex is primarily maintained for the use of the schools cross-country running and skiing teams, but is open to the public year round. In the winter the trails are groomed and walking or snowshoeing on the trails is prohibited to help preserve the track. The trails also host the annual Leavitt Father's Day 5k Trail Run and Walk.

Trail Tips

Plan Ahead and Prepare
Know your limits – it’s okay to turn back. Your home is the ultimate destination, not the summit.

Trailhead Information

From the intersection of ME Route 4 (Auburn Road) and ME Route 117, take ME Route 117 (Turner Center Road) east. Follow the road 1.9 miles to Lower Street (just after crossing the Nezinscot River). Turn right onto Lower Street and then left into the school complex. Park in one of the large parking lots by the athletic fields and look for the break in the fence. The trails enter the woods between the baseball diamond and the tennis courts.
