The Lyseth School Trail was envisioned by 3rd graders and has involved thousands of students in its construction and maintenance over the years. The trail is positioned to connect the schools and neighborhoods to each other and to provide greater access to Pine Grove Park.
Starting at the Lyseth playground, the 3-foot wide packed dirt, gravel and natural surfaced trail is relatively flat (2-5% grade) as it winds through past the fields and through the forested terrain of the school yard and outdoor classroom.
The trail then crosses Allen Avenue towards Pine Grove Park. It remains flat and wide until the Wyoming Avenue trailhead before climbing a moderately steep slope in the park. The park features rocky outcroppings and relatively open stands of White Pines.
(Applies to Lyseth School Trail to the Wyoming Ave trailhead only, not to Pine Grove Park Trails)
