Description

This short loop is a nice diversion close to downtown Norway. Before it was officially deeded to the Twin Town Nature Club to maintain as a park and nature preserve, the grove had been conserved under private ownership since at least the late 1700s; the result is that the stand is home to some of the oldest and largest White Pines remaining in Maine. The trail itself is a relatively easy grade and pokes out onto the scenic shores of Pennesseewassee Lake in several places.

Other Information

Fires, camping, and ATVs are prohibited in the grove. Carry out what you carry in, and help us keep it natural. Enjoy!

Trailhead Information

Starting at the intersection of ME Routes 26 and 117, where Fair, Paris, Alpine, and Main Streets intersect at the Oxford Hills High School, take ME Route 117 (Paris Street) west for about a third of a mile, then bear right following ME Route 117 (Main Street) through downtown Norway for another 0.6 miles. Turn right on Pleasant Street, the last cross street in the village. The trailhead is about 0.2 miles on your left and is marked with a sign. Park on Pleasant Street.
