Description

Reynolds Forest is a conserved area of land that is home to two trails. The first trail accessible from the trailhead is the Streamside Trail. The trail is a quick 0.15 mile trek that follows along Goff Stream. At the end, hikers are rewarded with views of the stream's coursing waterfalls. The rocks along the stream bank are an ideal spot for a picnic. From there hikers have the option of looping back through the forest to the trailhead or heading onward to the Old Farm Loop. The loop is 0.36 miles and weaves through the thick of Reynolds Forest. On the southern edge of the trail an open field can be observed, and as the trail loops back a former cellar foundation can be found. The trail and stream provide visitors with sublime birding opportunities as well as impressive wildflowers and floodplain species along the stream.

Other Information

No motor vehicles are allowed on the trails. Beware of flooding in the early spring.

Trail Tips

Plan Ahead and Prepare
Know your limits – it’s okay to turn back. Your home is the ultimate destination, not the summit.

Trailhead Information

From Augusta take the River Road (ME-104) north towards Sidney. Once in Sidney, look for the Dinsmore Road on your left. Shortly after passing the Dinsmore Road, you will see the KLT sign on your left, just before the road crosses Goff Brook. There is no actual parking area for Reynolds Forest; please park along the road.
