Northern Outdoors is open for lodging and the campground to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont residents. There is currently no food service or brewery. On July 1st they will be opening the restaurant and brewery, lodging, and will have whitewater rafting - all for folks who qualify to visit under the regulations set by the state of Maine.

Professional registered guides, full day trips with riverside cookouts, kids half price rafting special, trips run daily May-October. The popular adventure resort has two locations, both with rafting, hiking, fishing, cabins and riverside camping.
The Forks Maine Adventure Resort has private log cabins, riverside campsites, outdoor swimming pool, giant hot tub, arcade, free WiFi, Kennebec River Brewery craft beer and a full-service restaurant. The Forks Resort is directly on the Kennebec River with the Forks Area Scenic Trail running right through the campground. The Appalachian Trail (AT) crosses the Kennebec River at Caratunk, a few miles south of The Forks, Maine, where Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort is located. Northern Outdoors offers shuttles to and from the trailhead for hikers wanting to stop at the lodge.
Northern Outdoors Katahdin Adventure Base Camp fronts the Penobscot River and Katahdin, sitting at Abol Bridge on the Appalachian Trail -- with cabins and indoor lodging down the road at Big Moose Inn. Steps from Baxter State Park, the base camp (only open in the summer) is the hub of epic Penobscot whitewater rafting.
