4th Street Park - Old Town
View Connector Trails
From central Old Town, travel north on Main Street for 0.7 miles before turning right onto Fourth Street Extension. Parking is located in the lot on the left across from the boat launch.
Located on Fourth Street Extension, this Old Town municipal park offers a little bit of something for everyone. A boat ramp near the parking area provides river access to the historic Penobscot River and green space along the shore offers a scenic setting for picnics, small family gatherings and quiet reading or sunbathing. The North Fourth Street Trail starts next to the old Waterworks Building and continues along the Penobscot River before turning inland and emerging onto ME-43/Gilman Falls Avenue. Visitors may cross ME-43 to continue onto the trails in the DeMerrit University Forest.
