Description

This trail descends steeply for 200 feet from the Wilton Lion's Club parking lot to a wooden observation deck and then follows the marshy edge of Coubers Brook 500 feet to its terminus on Sunset Avenue. The observation deck offers a wide view of Coubers Brook Marsh and a split log bench provides an excellent seat for wildlife viewing.

Trailhead Information

Coubers Brook Trail may be accessed from both its east and west ends, though parking is more plentiful at the western Lions Club trailhead.

  • West Trailhead: from downtown Wilton, travel east on East Wilton Road. Turn left into the Wilton Lions Club parking lot 200 feet past Academy Hill School and just before the Wilton Emergency Services Building. Park at the back of the building near the Coubers Brook trailhead sign.
  • East Trailhead: follow the above directions, but continue past the Lions Club building for another 100 feet on the East Wilton Road and turn left onto Sunset Avenue immediately after the Wilton Emergency Services Building. Parking for two cars may be found on the right side of Sunset Avenue near its intersection with East Wilton Road. The eastern trailhead is on the left side of Sunset Avenue.

I tried this trail today. It was overgrown and the path was not visible. Abandoned it.
