Description

In 1994, the Doyle-Finnegan family donated 16 acres in Damariscotta to the Pemaquid Watershed Association, thereby creating the Doyle Preserve for all to enjoy. The preserve provides public access to 1200 feet on Pemaquid Pond, just over 1 mile of trails, and serves as an outdoor learning site for use by schools and other groups. The forested woodland provides habitat for a variety of wildlife, such as pileated woodpeckers, red fox, and red squirrels.

The Blue Trail follows the shore of Pemaquid Pond offering beautiful views. Take special care finding the trail, the trailhead and the kiosk are separated by a private driveway.

Other Information

Visitors are welcome to enjoy this preserve during daylight hours, fires are not allowed.

This is such a wonderful trail with a lovely wooded trail, leading out to lovely water views. The Pemaquid Pond trail leads out to the shore across the way. It's fun to do both trails in the same day.
These awesome businesses support our goal of connecting people to outdoor adventures in Maine!
