Description

With twenty-three acres of fields and woods on the Bagaduce River, Ferry Landing Natural Area provides habitat for deer, small mammals, and birds.

From the trailhead on Jones Point Road, there is immediately a junction with trails leading to the right and left. They form a loop around the east half of the property, meeting up with each other after about a quarter mile, where a trail continues another quarter mile from the loop to the shore of the Bagaduce River. The trails travel through woods, by an old apple orchard, and across fields to the shore. The Landing is a good hand-carry launch site for river exploration by canoe or kayak.

Caution: this section of the Bagaduce River often has strong and unpredictable currents, depending on the tide. Please use care when boating and observe all safety precautions.
