Description

What was once a vegetable 'truck' farm, is now in the process of being reclaimed as hay fields and managed woodland. There is public access via a trail through the fields and woods down to one of the two large South Acton Swamps. The trail is somewhat rough in the woods, with roots and rocks to negotiate. These swamps are wonderful habitat for birds and other wildlife.

Three Rivers Land Trust owns this property and uses it for activities, such as the annual kite flying day in summer. Visit Three Rivers Land Trust online for information about events.

This trail was a major waste of time, there is no trail, just some open fields and some overgrown portions of what may have been a trail at some time. There's also only one inconspicuous sign at the beginning, no marked out parking area, and no other trail signs of any kind that I could discover.
These awesome businesses support our goal of connecting people to outdoor adventures in Maine!
