Description

AMC grooms 90 miles of interconnected ski trails around and linking their wilderness lodges. The trails are open to the public. The ski trails around Medawisla circle around Second Roach Pond, circumnavigate Trout Mountain and loop around the flanks of Shaw Mountain. Most of the trails are rated easy except for the Skyline trail on Shaw Mountain. The trails also link to West Branch Ponds camps. For a detailed map including trail names, click here.

Care should always be taken when crossing frozen waterways in the winter. Check in at the lodge for up-to-date conditions before you use the trails.

Medawisla, the only AMC lodge accessible by car in the winter, features private cabins and a bunkhouse as well as fresh-cooked breakfast and dinner. For more information about the lodge, visit AMC's website
