Peaks-Kenny State Park lies on the shores of Sebec Lake, offering day visitors and campers a peaceful, wooded setting in which to enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, picnicking and hiking.
Cove Trail (0.6 miles, easy): leaves from the main picnic area, offering a quick getaway from the beach crowd. The trails loops through the picnic area, climbs slightly up and away from Sebec Lake before returning to parallel the lake shores. Be on the lookout for a magnificent old growth hemlock and two of twelve picnic table sculptures scattered throughout the park.
Loop Trail (0.4 miles, easy): and Birch Mountain Ledge Trail (2.3 miles, moderate) share the same trailhead, beginning in the southwest corner of the parking lot. The Loop Trail provides a centrally located loop for those seeking a quick woods experience, including a hidden picnic spot. For those wishing to explore a bit further, the Birch Mountain Ledge Trail continues on from the Loop Trail, crossing the State Park Road, before climbing steadily through small growth softwoods to the upper ledges of Birch Mountain. The trail's name becomes apparent on the hike down as old growth birch trees dominant the forest. The trail leaves the forest at the at the park's pump house, following a gravel road back to the beach area.
Brown's Point Trail (3.4 mile round-trip, moderate): boasts the most serene and diverse hiking experience in the park. From the ranger station, a dense, mixed growth canopy quickly shelters visitors from the hustle and bustle of the park. The trail then climbs gradually into an old growth hemlock forest before descending to traverse a wetland area. The waters of Sebec Lake come into view well before the trail reaches its calming shores, a tempting sight for any. The end of Brown's Point Trail does not disappoint, creating panoramic views of the park and surrounding area, a perfect picnic destination. This out and back trail is sure to keep hikers intrigued, even during the return. Surely at least one fascinating glacial erratic was missed on the trek out!

Camp only at established sites, many of which can be reserved in advance. There's a two-night minimum for reserved sites and a 14-day maximum stay during July and August. Quiet in camping areas is required between 10:00pm and 7:00am Generators in the campground can only be operated at designated times.
Please stay on trails to protect sensitive ecosystems. Swim only in designated areas.
Keep pets on leash (less than 4 feet) at all times and do not leave pets unattended. Pets are not allowed on the beach.

From Dover-Foxcroft, follow ME Route 153/Greenley's Landing Road for approximately 4.5 miles. Turn left onto State Park Road to enter Peaks-Kenny State Park.
