Sanford-Springvale Rail Trail

The Sanford-Springvale Rail Trail is a six-mile trail built on the old rail bed that passes through Sanford. Running easterly from the Lebanon town line, this multi-use trail is used year round by hikers, bicyclists, walkers, joggers, cross-country skiers, horses, ATV riders, and snowmobilers.
Trail Activity
5.9 miles, One Way
Dirt/Forest Floor, Gravel/Crushed Stone

This trail runs from the Lebanon border through Springvale, crossing multiple roads as it passes through town. Features include forest, Deering Pond, and a nearby baseball field.

Work on the trail has resulted in graded dirt and gravel which allows for multiple uses.

This trail provides ample recreational opportunities in all four seasons.

A walked the trail today towards Lebanon and also back towards Deering Pond from Hanson Ridge Rd. The weather was nice, but I would definitely recommend some kind of bug spray, because the flies and mosquitoes were pretty thick today.
