Skyline Farm, a non-profit organization, maintains a sleigh museum and trail network on this 54-acre historic farm property. The trails at Skyline Farm are open to non-motorized uses year round. A 2 mile loop has been largely completed and is marked. It passes across the highest hill of the farm's hayfields before plunging into the woods where it crosses a tributary of Toddy Brook and passes through mixed growth groves of trees. One of the stream crossings includes a timber-framed king truss bridge build as part of an Eagle Scout project.
The trail network at Skyline Farm traces it roots to the time when numerous bridle paths meandered through the area's fields and woods. Many of these were used by the horseback riders learning to ride at Skyline Farm while Abby and Carl Semmes ran a riding school at the farm in the 1950s and 1960s. The current trail network was designed by John Morton of Thetford, Vermont. John is a former Olympic Nordic Skier and has designed multi-use trails all over the world. In Maine, some of the other trail networks designed by Mr. Morton include those at Twin Brook Recreation Area in Cumberland, Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, the Libby Hill Forest in Gray and the Nordic Ski/Biathlon facilities in the Limestone, Maine area.
Skyline’s woods, fields, and trails are protected by a conservation easement held by the Royal River Conservation Trust since 2002. A tributary of the Royal River flows through the farm, and a second tributary borders the property. The property sits atop the aquifer that provides drinking water to Yarmouth and North Yarmouth.

Visitors may access the trails from the parking area at the farm and museum complex. From downtown Yarmouth, head northwest toward Walnut Hill in North Yarmouth on ME-115W for 3.9 miles. Take a right on The Lane and continue for 0.5 miles. The entrance to Skyline Farm will be via the second driveway on your right. GPS Address: 95 The Lane, North Yarmouth, ME.
