Come out to Dig Deep Farm with Skowhegan Outdoors! We’ll spend some time with one of our local Skowhegan Farmers’ Market vendors, Dalziel Lewis, while touring her nine acres of MOFGA-certified organic farmland. Then we'll roll up our sleeves and contribute a little work to some seasonal tasks around the farm. This program is great for all ages, especially families, and we encourage anyone interested in learning more about organic produce or anyone interested in gaining practical skills for small-scale farming to sign up!
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. It can be very easy to overheat doing physical activities in August, so please be sure to wear a hat and dress in clothes that will help you to stay cool, but that you don’t mind getting dirty, as well as closed-toe sneakers or boots. We recommend you wear sunscreen, bugspray, and bring water and snacks. If needed, you will have the opportunity to make use of supplies provided by the Skowhegan Outdoors Community Gear Library.
If you'd like to join us for this event, please preregister via the Skowhegan Outdoors website calendar.
This is a free community program of Skowhegan Outdoors, a project of Main Street Skowhegan, in collaboration with Dig Deep Farm.
