The best way to learn is by doing, so if you aspire to learn how to identify and remove common woody invasive plants, join us for this hands-on workshop.
In this workshop, participants will learn to identify and remove common woody invasive plants from BTLT properties–primarily Asiatic bittersweet, shrub honeysuckles, barberry, glossy buckthorn, multiflora rose, and burning bush.
We will be using manual and mechanical techniques to remove the invasives encroaching around the Crystal Spring Farmers Market. As you will learn, yearly follow up after the initial mechanical treatment occurs is the key to success in treatments that do not use herbicide.
All levels of experience are invited to come out and learn during this workday. Experience is not required – we will help you learn how to identify and remove the primary invasive plants in the area.
Registration is required. Plan to bring water, sunscreen, bug repellent, and (if you have them) gloves, pruning saws, and eye protection. We’ll have extras on hand.
