Here is your chance to explore a remote lesser hiked trail, on Little Kineo Mountain! Work will consist of building bog bridging and marking the summit, but we anticipate time to explore. No previous experience required.
Meet at 9am at Moosehead Center Mall, 27 Moosehead Lake Road in Greenville, to carpool to the Little Kineo trailhead. We will be done around 3pm back to town by 4pm.
Due to the mountain's remote location and active roadside logging operations, all those interested must meet at the Greenville meeting location above if they wish to participate. We will carpool from there or, for those that wish, you can follow lead cars to the trailhead. We will be on secondary gravel roads for approximately 15 miles, heavy duty tires and high clearance vehicles recommended.
What to Bring:
Lunch, snacks, water, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, layers/raingear. If you've got them, please also bring eye protection and folding saws or loppers. Please wear sturdy footwear (boots) and appropriate clothing for trail work.
In the event of wet weather the event will be cancelled.
