The trail is an out and back to the ocean, with a loop at the end along the shore. The loop travels through a stand of spruce and fir, and provides access to the rocky shoreline.
Most of the trail is of minimal grades and nearly flat, with a gravel surface to the loop. However, about halfway to the shore the trail ascends and descends again over a surface of rocks and bedrock.
The loop along the shore is flat with a gravel surface on its east side and a forest floor around its west side. There a some roots to navigate in the loop, particularly along the outermost section of the loop where there are quite a few of them and where the trail is also narrower.
This is a popular birding spot and there is good tidepooling at low tide. When exploring the tidepools keep these safety tips in mind.
