Description

The trail weaves through sections of oak, pine, and birch forest. The short spur trail to the summit is on private land is recently closed to the public. The trail includes a children's book that changes seasonally on signposts along the trail to support family literacy, thanks to partnership with Regional School District #3. blue blazes

Please respect that this trail is on privately owned property and help keep this open to the public.

This trail can be slippery due to leaves on the trail in fall and early winter. No overnight camping is allowed. We recommend that hikers wear blaze orange when using SWLA trails during deer rifle hunting season (typically October-November).

Dispose of Waste Properly
Wash your dishes at least 200 feet away from water sources, use biodegradable soap sparingly, and scatter the dishwater.

Trailhead Information

From Rte 3 between South China and Belfast, take Rt. 220 south for 0.8 miles. Turn left at the sign for the Vena M. Roberts Memorial Ball Field. Park in the parking lot behind Walker Health Center in Liberty. The trailhead is at the far corner, past the ball field.
