This trail system is designed for accessibility and to provide a pleasant way to travel through Blue Hill Village on foot off the busy roads. The trails cut through mixed wood forest occupying a gently sloping landscape, crossing several intermittent streams.
The Murphy Trail is a lovely wooded path with crushed gravel, perfect for a stroll through the woods and suitable for strollers or those with limited mobility. It is a wide, typically 6-foot wide path, with no interruptions to the surface. There are a couple of wood bridges along the way that are the same width of the trail and that smoothly connect to the trail surface with minimal lips of an inch or under. At the end of the Murphy trail - the end of the accessible portion of this trail system - there is a beautiful spot with huge boulders covered in moss, and where there are benches on which to rest. The Kaiser Trail connects the Murphy Trail with the Parker Point to South Street Trail and is a typical wooded trail.
The Parker Point to South Street Trail includes several bridges, gravel-covered paths, and a long staircase up the slope coming out in between Mainescape and the Blue Hill Coop at its western South Street end.

Drive 0.3 miles down Parker Point Road from Main Street. Turn right into the parking area at the old town fountain.
MAIN STREET TRAILHEAD (ACCESSIBLE)
Hikers may park at the Blue Hill Congregational Church on Main Street, 0.1 miles west of the junction of Main Street with Parker Point Road. (Please avoid parking at the church during their service hours.)
