Description

Mosher Hill Falls is reached by an informal, moderate streamside trail in the Bernard & Jean Kinney Family Forest, a 199-acre community forest just minutes from downtown Farmington. A short route leads to the falls, while a longer loop offers more time in the woods and beside the stream.

The trail winds through a quiet forest to Mosher Hill Falls, a striking 45-foot cascade. Expect natural, potentially uneven footing, especially near the stream and falls. The forest is rewarding to visit year-round, but use extra care around wet rocks, moving water, and steep terrain near the waterfall.

Two aluminum footbridges cross Mosher Stream above and below the falls, replacing former rock crossings and making it easier to explore both sides of the gorge. The loop remains steep and rocky in places, and visitors should use care around wet surfaces, moving water, and gorge edges.

Trailhead Information

From downtown Farmington: Follow ME-43 (Industry Road) for just over 3 miles. Turn left onto Mosher Hill Road and continue for approximately 3 miles. The road becomes unpaved shortly before a stream crossing and a low dip in the road. Look for the small parking area on the left; the trailhead is across the road at 727 Mosher Hill Road.

From Kingfield: Follow ME-27 south toward Farmington. Turn left onto Ramsdell Road, then continue to Mosher Hill Road and turn onto Mosher Hill Road. Follow Mosher Hill Road to the Mosher Hill Falls parking area at 727 Mosher Hill Road, across from the trailhead.

Parking is limited to a small pull-off and roadside shoulder, so please park carefully and avoid blocking the road. Google Maps may list 727 Mosher Hill Road as being in Industry rather than Farmington.
