Description

This former landfill now offers a range of attractive trails, mostly surrounding a steep hill in the center. The path around the grassy hill is wide, level gravel--an easy grade and surface, accessible to many wheelchairs. The smooth, packed dirt path over the hill is steep at the north end. Moderately sloping trails through woods and wetlands are uneven and crisscrossed by tree roots. Open dawn to dusk.

Other Information

The park is owned and managed by the City of Portland, with assistance from Portland Trails. The Quarry Run Dog Park is a popular part Ocean Avenue Recreation Area--a ten-acre off-leash park where dogs can run free.

I agree with Cheri6661 comment. You can reach the Virginia Woods trails (Portland Trails) and the Falmouth Land Trust's Pleasant Hill Woods Preserve trails from here.
These trails see active use and most of the time you'll see someone walking their dog. Easy, make what you want of it (time) trails.

This was mostly a dog walking trail.
These awesome businesses support our goal of connecting people to outdoor adventures in Maine!
