Join Barbara Vickery and Scott Weidensaul for an evening of celebration, conversation, and interviews with the co-authors and artists of the recently-released book, Birds of Maine. The first comprehensive overview of Maine’s incredibly rich birdlife in more than seven decades, Birds of Maine is a detailed account of all 464 species recorded in the Pine Tree State. Written by the late Peter Vickery in cooperation with a team of leading ornithologists including Charles Duncan, Bill Sheehan, and Jeff Wells, with art by Lars Jonsson and Barry Van Dusen, this guide offers a detailed look at the state’s dynamic avifauna.
The online event will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this remarkable book and include a question-and-answer period.
