The quiet woodland trail loops through a variety of forest and wetland habitats with good opportunities for viewing wildlife. 0.3 miles south from the trailhead there is a spur trail to a ledge overlooking the Pemaquid River, a perfect spot for picnics. Old stone walls and impressive ledge outcrops are also to be found along the one-mile trail.
