The Spring Road Trail follows the edge of Lake Auburn on a wide dirt and gravel road that is gated at each end. Numerous viewpoints are available on the edge of the road, showcasing sweeping views of Lake Auburn.
The trail is 10 feet wide with a packed gravel surface, for walking, running and cycling. There are small undulating hills with a maximum slope of 9%. Cross slopes are minimal and can be avoided by choosing your course on the wide surface. At the gates, the trail openings are 30 inches wide.
¼ mile intervals are marked along the route. Trails connecting to the Lake Auburn Community Center are signed.

As Lake Auburn is the sole source of drinking water for Lewiston, Auburn, and surrounding communities swimming is not allowed. Dogs are also not allowed in the water. The regulations for Lake Auburn prohibit all body contact, even your hands from touching the water. The fines are hefty, up to $2500.00 for each violation.

Parking is available just in front of the gate that marks the beginning of the trail (about 0.25 miles past Point of Pine Road on the right).
