The Shoreline Trail is located across from the Camden Hills State Park main entrance, approximately 2 miles north of Camden on US Route 1. The entrance will be on your left when northbound.
The Shoreline Trail offers an up close ocean experience. This 15 minute walk will tantalize the senses with the smell of salt air; the crashing of waves; sightings of gulls and other seabirds circling overhead. Stay a spell and you are likely to see lobster traps being hauled in offshore.
This Camden Hills destination is perfect for groups or individuals. Visitors may utilize the pavilion by reservation or stop by for a small picnic anytime. Those seeking solitude are likely to find secluded, scenic points along the Shoreline Trail.
In addition to hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, Camden Hills allows opportunities for picnicking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, hunting and camping. Please exercise caution on ledge and rock areas, especially in wet conditions.
Camden Hills State Park Campground is open from May through September. Reservations are highly recommended during the summer season. Amenities include bathhouses, a dumping station, RV hookups and wireless internet access. Group shelters are available by reservation. Firewood can transport invasive insects and diseases. Do not transport firewood. Please buy it locally and help protect our forests!
